Childbirth Video-scared!!!?
So I am nearing my 38th week, and I wasnt able to take a childbirth class, so I decided to read a lot about labor, and today I thought it was a good idea to watch a natural birth, which is what I really want, but now I am so scared. I am worried I might do something wrong, I am worried I wont pushed right, I am just so overwhelmed with everything. The reality of it set in, and my first job as a mom is to push the baby out safely, and I am just worried, any advice, stories you can tell? Thanks!!!

I asked my mom how she did 5 natural births. She just said she never considered anything else; she went into the hospital knowing she was going to give a natural birth and she did it! I hope I can be as strong as she was… but I’m not sure. :p
In the end, if you really want to try a natural birth–go for it! You shouldn’t feel pressured into doing it natural OR having the epidural by anyone else. You do what you want. If you are worried about pushing the baby out… I don’t think you need to worry. Mother nature sets in and you push because your body tells you to push! The nurses will be there to help and coach you.
My mom loved giving natural birth. That’s why she did it again, and again, and again, and AGAIN! She felt like it made the experience more beautiful and she was “fully” there. My friends who got the epidural loved it because they were able to relax before childbirth.
Many get worried during the pregnancy. But once it comes, ALL you’ll be able to think about it getting that baby out and holding it in your arms!!
CONGRATS~!~

Don’t worry, you will do fine. One tip I have to make the contractions less painful is to completely relax then they come, not what you will wan’t to do, but it’s amazing how much less the contractions hurt when you do that. Also the person helping and assisting you will let you know when to push. You will have help the whole way through so don’t feel like you will be alone.

First of all, you’re normal!
It’s better to go into labor informed – because at least you have an idea of what to expect. I was in college when I was pregnant with my first, and was unable to go to any classes. I didn’t watch any videos, just read a few books (which were not much help). When I got to the hospital the nurses in labor and delivery told me how to breathe to cope with the contractions and then they told me again how to breathe right before she was born. They know what they are doing!
In terms of pushing: I was on iv drugs when I started pushing, so I was a bit loopy – but it’s pretty easy! I started pushing, wasn’t getting anywhere, and then realized I had a “2nd set of muscles I wasn’t using”. Basically – imagine you’re having to do both #1 and #2 – and push that way. Engage all the muscles, and listen to the nurses.
You’ll do just fine. Tuck your chin down on your chest, hold your breathe for a few seconds, and concentrate all your energy into “that” region.

I wasnt able to take any of the classes either and i got nervous i wasnt going to know what to do either. But you have nurses there that have had women come in and not know what to do and they will tell you what you need to do when you need to do it… My doctor keeps telling me right now i just need to work on relaxtation techniques to keep me calm during the labor… If you are havng anyone in the room with you while your in labor that has had a baby before they will be able to help you out too!! Good Luck and Congrats… Were both due right around the same time. Im 38 weeks too and i feel like these next few weeks cant come fast enough LOL!!

Don’t worry! Being tense while you give birth will make you more prone to mistakes. My mom had me as a natural birth, because I was one month premature and came out very fast. My mom said that though it is painful, the best thing that she did was just try to relax. Maybe sing yourself a song, or think of a good memory, and try not to focus on the pain. Good luck!

Hey,
Im due 22nd June! Luckily ive been able to go to antinatel classes! Best bit of advice the MW gave me was to not listen to other peoples stories etc, your labour may not be as bad as thiers! thats what u have to remember! The MW will be there with you all the time so no need to panic and if u cant go through with having a natural birth then there is gas and air etc.
The best thing i done was read up everything about labour online! not peoples stories casue that did worry me!
Im 20 and have never read a book lol so this was a big thing for me too!!
Goodluck and DONT PANIC!! im sure u will do just fine

Dont be scared!
Having a baby comes natural, you might think you dont know what to do now cause you have never been through something like this. But when it comes time to have the baby you will know exactly what to do and how to push and everythang.
There is nothin to worry about you will be fine.

When you feel the need to push you will know what to do. It is involuntary to push. It feels a lot like having a bowel movement. The best thing to do is to go with the flow. When you fight what your body is doing it makes things worse.

I know exactly how you feel! I’ll be 37 weeks on Monday & am panicking more & more each day. I’m so scared of the pain & blood. I just went to the doctor today & he told me that the baby will probably come before the due date- June 30. She’s already turned head down & dropped. I dont think I can do it!

To be quite honest with you, when its time to give birth, instincts will kick in and you’ll just naturally know exactly what to do. Millions of women have felt the same way as you and successfully given birth. Within the next month, you’ll join their ranks! Good luck and congratulations.

Pushing is like when you are going to the bathroom for a #2. My doctor had to help me out a bit. She used a device called a vacuum, attached it to his head to help pull him out. He was fine just had a cone head for about an hour or so. Being worried is normal all will be okay! Congrats!
