Having a baby is such a wonderful experience for a woman. After nine months of gaining extra weight, it is natural for woman of aiming to normalize its natural shape as soon as possible. But it takes six months before the body can recover after giving birth. Trying to lose weight too fast can harm your health.

Moderate exercise is essential to good health and this applies to mothers and mothers to be as well. Regular exercise helps to keep the body in good shape; it can also increase stamina, which help to cope with the rigors of labor. In addition, it makes easier to return to normal physical tone after the baby is born.

How soon you will start exercising?

Starting light exercise within a day or two of delivery depending, of course upon how easy and natural the delivery was. If childbirth is complicated or involved surgery, you may have to delay the resumption of your exercise routine. In this case, ask your obstetrician for specific recommendations. In most hospitals today, however, postoperative exercise is standard procedure.

Your obstetrician will probably suggest a number of exercises designed to strengthen your muscles back and to tighten the muscles in your pelvic region. You should also allow yourself time for nap everyday to help your body recover from the fatigue of childbirth. All in all, you should be able to return to your pregnancy weight and condition in about six weeks.

It is normally recommended that the form of exercise should be continued before and after pregnancy. You should not approach your exercises in a strenuous manner, but rather do them lightly and regularly. However, exercise and some sports that need a high degree of energy such as diving, skiing, skating and mountain climbing should be avoided.

There are Things to Consider before start Exercising

After giving birth, it is recommended that woman should do some exercises to help you regain figure just like before being pregnant.

Be patience for the main time. You gain weight for nine months thus losing it overnight is impossible. Have a healthy diet, increase calorie intake and have exercise it will help you to reduce weight.

Instead of walking you need a running exercise to reduce more weight. But take note exercising vigorously may harm your health especially if your body don’t recover yet. For proper diet you need an advise from a doctor, especially for breastfeed mothers.

The increase in calorie intake along with the exercise will raise your metabolism and therefore help you to lose weight. It is not safe or healthy to lose weight rapidly, especially while nursing. You do not want to risk a reduced milk production or a depletion of your bone and muscle tissue for the sake of getting back to your pregnancy weight. In the scheme of things nursing your baby, at a less-than-ideal weight, is really best for the health of your baby and for your long-term health.

Did you know that some maternity units actually have more staff
available during periods of full moon?

I’ve always been fascinated by the moon’s effect on nature, so
when a friend’s wife conveyed to me what her midwife had told
her during the birth of their daughter, I decided to find out
more about childbirth, full moon and a possible link.

On speaking to various medical staff involved in natural
childbirth, the first thing I learned was that expectant mothers
often experience false signs of labor during full moon.

Contractions known as “Braxton Hicks” — sometimes noticeable to
the mother and sometimes not — become more pronounced and many
travel to the maternity unit in the belief that “it’s time”.
Disappointed — or perhaps relieved — they return home, the
pains having subsided and with no dilation of the cervix.

While these expectant mothers visiting the clinic with their
mistaken signs of labor are part of the reason why extra staff
are needed, the major difference is found in the number of women
whose amniotic sac — the water — breaks.

Just as some women experience false labor pains, in cases where
the water breaking marks the start of childbirth, full moon is
the time when it’s most likely to happen.

In order to discover for myself whether this could be true, I
asked several female friends how their births had started. Those
who responded with “the water breaking” were then asked the date
of the birth. On checking this against a moon phase chart, I
discovered that almost all had given birth on, or very close to,
a full moon.

The theory is that the moon’s gravitational pull effects the
amniotic fluid in much the same way as it effects the water in
the sea, rivers and even the water that’s otherwise found in our
bodies.

As a woman’s body prepares for natural childbirth, the amniotic
sac becomes distended so the point where it will easily burst if
put under pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of
labor contractions bursts the sac. During a full moon, the
pressure caused by the moon’s effect on the water inside the sac
can cause the same things to happen, but without the
accompanying contractions.

When this happens, natural childbirth doesn’t always move
forward and with no other signs of labor present, the
obstetrician may decide to induce the birth. During my own study
of this phenomenon I found that of 8 women whose births started
with the water breaking at full moon, 5 of them had no
accompanying contractions.

A coincidence? Perhaps. But surely midwives wouldn’t prepare
themselves for an increase in natural childbirth activity if
there wasn’t some truth in this?

One midwife told me that when it comes to planning childbirth,
full moons should always be looked for around the time of the
expected delivery. If there’s one within a few days either side,
the chances are your baby will be born on that day

I don’t have insurance (everything is so expensive.) We are currently building our businesses. I refuse to get government assistance because its too much they want in return to me. I started studying on going unassisted. If this pregnancy continues, I will pay for the tests that I feel necessary, and buy at much home monitoring supplies. And give birth at home. In case of emergency, go to hospital and now they can’t charge me for delivery!!!
I am very educated and feel strongly that I can do it just like they did back in the day.
Would you do this. Opinions please. Here is a website that offers experiences, articles and videos.http://www.unassistedchildbirth.com/

Hypnosis for child birth is used as a technique as much throughout the pregnancy as it is used during the labour itself. The benefits include a sense of calm and relaxation- and of course the calmer mum can be, the calmer the baby will be during the normally quite stressful experience of being born. This can later influence the ease at which they feed and sleep as a result of a less traumatic birthing experience.

During the pregnancy, hypnotherapy in Hemel Hempstead can be used as a means of mentally preparing the mother for the forthcoming events, offering her suggestions of a calm pain-free experience to come, and a reassurance that she will be able to manage her own levels of pain. The hypnotic experience aided by a hypnotherapist or a hypnotic recording, can help to maintain blood pressure at a safe level during the gestation periods and induce positive beliefs and feelings about the imminent experience as well as offering positive suggestions for things like diet and lifestyle throughout the pregnancy.

During the labour, the trance experience may be used, though not in a deep sleep kind of a way. Instead, the mother will be able to experience the event fully and fell in control during the process. The pain control method reduces the need for medication throughout the experience and ensure that any physical “healing” needs to take place after the labour happens quickly.

In short, anxiety creates tension which can create more pain. Hypnotherapy in Hertfordshire is able to break this cycle with the injection of relation and positive thoughts and attitude. It is well documented that childbirth is a very different experience in other cultures because the expectation of pain does not exist. If you are interested in how hypnotherapy can be helpful for you, please contact our hypnotherapist in Hertfordshire.

It does sound a little strange to say “remember to breathe” during labour, but you’ll be surprised how often we hold our breath in day-to-day activities, let alone while giving birth.

When you’re experiencing any sort of discomfort, the immediate reaction is to hold your breath. This will cause you far more discomfort, as well as making you light headed, unfocused and increase your experience of pain as well as making you stressed and irritable.

To force your breath while experiencing any discomfort or intense feeling will also create muscle tension, even if you’re trying to breathe deeply. The ideal way to breathe during labour is to focus on your breathing. You don’t need to try to change your breath, just make sure you are breathing and stay focused on that. Pay attention to what part of your body you are breathing in to; your upper chest, your belly and the sides of your belly. Once you’re focusing on your breath it will naturally and automatically start to change and become more relaxed, full and deep. Whenever your attention goes to something else, bring your focus back to your breathing.

Putting your attention to your breath throughout labour will help you through the contractions and help you to rest in between. You can also practise this breathing through the second stage of labour, as your baby is passing through your birth canal, inbetween pushing. The old fashioned teachings of panting to try and stop yourself from pushing is now out-dated. Practise panting now and see how you feel. You’re likely to become very light-headed and feel disorientated; not something you want if you’d like to get the most out of your Joyful Birth. By breathing in a relaxed, deep and focused way, as described above, you’ll reduce your experience of discomfort and increase your feelings of empowerment and control.

Practise focusing on your breathing throughout your pregnancy; both you and your baby will benefit. You’ll find that you will be more relaxed and calm and once you go into labour you’ll be well practised at breathing correctly.
