PRANAPADA METHOD: BIRTH TIME RECTIFICATION

Birth Time (BT) rectification is an important consideration for any serious use of tools provided by Vedic astrology. While there are many methods prevalent for doing a BT rectification, this article presents a novel method for Birth Time rectification using PRANApada (zodiacal point of reference, related to expression of PRANA or Universal Life Force).

To understand the PRANA-pada as enunciated by Jyotish texts, one needs to know how PRANA functions in body as mentioned in Yoga texts. This is the key to have any meaningful discussion on its applications, which include Birth-time rectification and deciphering the forces of self-created destiny.

“Breath” is the primary cause for the expression of consciousness that we call as Birth in human body. This breath is intimately related to the PRANA in human body. While Vedic Jyotish texts (BPHS) give a concept of PRANA-pada, its application is very little understood in Birth Time Rectification.

PRANA in subtle body (sookshma sharira) is divided into 5 specialized forces operating in 5 cerebro-spinal chakras (wheels) of life and consciousness. Each of these chakras has a gross and a subtle PRANA associated with it, thus making for 10 distinct bodily PRANA (Dash mahavidya/10 incarnations of cosmic mother).
