Having a baby is such a wonderful experience for a woman. After nine months of gaining extra weight, it is natural for woman of aiming to normalize its natural shape as soon as possible. But it takes six months before the body can recover after giving birth. Trying to lose weight too fast can harm your health.

Moderate exercise is essential to good health and this applies to mothers and mothers to be as well. Regular exercise helps to keep the body in good shape; it can also increase stamina, which help to cope with the rigors of labor. In addition, it makes easier to return to normal physical tone after the baby is born.

How soon you will start exercising?

Starting light exercise within a day or two of delivery depending, of course upon how easy and natural the delivery was. If childbirth is complicated or involved surgery, you may have to delay the resumption of your exercise routine. In this case, ask your obstetrician for specific recommendations. In most hospitals today, however, postoperative exercise is standard procedure.

Your obstetrician will probably suggest a number of exercises designed to strengthen your muscles back and to tighten the muscles in your pelvic region. You should also allow yourself time for nap everyday to help your body recover from the fatigue of childbirth. All in all, you should be able to return to your pregnancy weight and condition in about six weeks.

It is normally recommended that the form of exercise should be continued before and after pregnancy. You should not approach your exercises in a strenuous manner, but rather do them lightly and regularly. However, exercise and some sports that need a high degree of energy such as diving, skiing, skating and mountain climbing should be avoided.

There are Things to Consider before start Exercising

After giving birth, it is recommended that woman should do some exercises to help you regain figure just like before being pregnant.

Be patience for the main time. You gain weight for nine months thus losing it overnight is impossible. Have a healthy diet, increase calorie intake and have exercise it will help you to reduce weight.

Instead of walking you need a running exercise to reduce more weight. But take note exercising vigorously may harm your health especially if your body don’t recover yet. For proper diet you need an advise from a doctor, especially for breastfeed mothers.

The increase in calorie intake along with the exercise will raise your metabolism and therefore help you to lose weight. It is not safe or healthy to lose weight rapidly, especially while nursing. You do not want to risk a reduced milk production or a depletion of your bone and muscle tissue for the sake of getting back to your pregnancy weight. In the scheme of things nursing your baby, at a less-than-ideal weight, is really best for the health of your baby and for your long-term health.

I don’t seem to be able to get this information from google or my midwives (who only seem to be available if you’re actually in labour or have an appointment – next one being 2 weeks away) and at 36 weeks I’m feeling a little unprepared for my home birth!
I’m thinking about hiring a birth pool, if I got a pool of say 6″ square or so, how much space do they need outside the pool??
Lots of women must’ve crammed a big pool into a little room so I’m hoping for personal experience..
How much space are they going to need around the pool to walk about and put their equipment and safely deal with any problems? (I know the more space the better but as a minimum?)
Thanks so much

It’s significantly simpler to look after older infants and children than to care for a newborn baby. This is usually because they are awfully fragile and have wants that they cannot simply express – they manifest this need only by crying.

One of the probable factors that make a contribution to post-natal depression is the difficulty of green – or experienced – mums with newborn baby care. To minimize the impact of this condition, it is helpful to read books about caring for children. When you are informed about newborn baby care, chances are you will not be caught flat-footed when something unusual happens to your child.

What are the important things to know?

Old wives’ tales about newborn baby care abound. Sometimes listening to too many of these legends make mummies worry unnecessarily over their baby’s health. Old folks, for instance, continually point out that it is not a good idea to bring the newborn baby out of the house.

the truth is, almost all babies need morning sun to negate the initial stages of jaundice. Taking the baby outside even a mere few weeks after birth is completely acceptable, as long as the infant is wearing comfortable, cool clothes during summer and safely wrapped up in a warm blanket during the cooler months.

When the baby is several weeks old, you could notice some changes on his skin – that is, his skin may become flaky and could even’shed.’ it’s not important to apply lotions or oils, as this is standard for newborns. In newborn baby care, the employment of chemicals is usually avoided even as these are thought to be safe for adults.

Even the baby’s scalp will shed its top layer a few weeks after birth. In some cases, a little help is needed in removing this layer of dead cells. You can carefully rub it away with a sponge while bathing the baby, but there’s really no need to apply oils or lotions on his calp.

Many children will also develop mild rashes. These are standard and newborn baby care dictates that they must not be treated with creams and ointments that may be too tough for the baby’s skin. These rashes might be due to different factors. When the rashes get worse or seem too out of the standard, it’s best to consult the pediatrician about it.

Another common issue in newly born baby care is whether to carry the infant or not when it is crying. Fogeys often agree on not giving in to a kid’s crying because this might wreck the kid. However, at that age, it is almost impossible to spoil a newly born.

Common newly born baby care sense will tell you that when a newborn baby cries, it’s because it wishes something – that something could be anything from milk or a diaper change. Being comforted is also a basic need of newborns, so denying them this in their first few weeks of life may lead to an extreme psychological impact on the kid.

What do I do with the stump?

Many new mothers who are not too well-vesred in newborn baby care frequently feel ill about having to handle the umbilical cord. Remember that the stump is nothing else but dead protein so accidentally touching it won’t cause any harm to the infant.

the most important thing to know in newborn baby care, as regards the umbilical cord, is to keep it dry at any time. If it unavoidably gets wet during bathing, take a cotton ball doused with alcohol and clean the rope with it.

By the end of the second week, the stump will have fallen off. After this happens, refrain from showering the infant more often than every 2 or 3 days, to allow it to completely heal.

Every mom-to-be is anxious about her pregnancy due date. To reduce your anxiety, here are some signs that indicate your baby is in a hurry to come out and see the world!

Signs of Pregnancy Due Date

Your body gives you signs when your pregnancy due date is near. Here they are:

1. Braxton Hicks contractions or false labor – when you get contractions, breathe deeply or do some movement. If they disappear, they are Braxton Hicks contractions and not true labor. These contractions are common and nothing to worry about. They get more frequent about 15 days before delivery.

2. Expulsion of mucous plug – This happens about 3 days before delivery. However, you need not rush to the hospital when the plug, which blocks the opening of your cervix throughout the pregnancy, expels.

3. Nesting – This is a strange, but common phenomenon taking place hours before delivery. You feel quite active and start arranging furniture, cleaning your wardrobe, or doing other such preparatory activities to welcome the baby. Call this natural instinct!

4. Water break – This is the most dependable sign of pregnancy due date. Water break indicates that delivery will take place within 24 hours.

5. Other signs of pregnancy due date – back pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea are some other signs of approaching delivery.

Now that you are aware of the signs of your pregnancy due date, it time to take care of certain things in the last few months before you go into labor. These things will help you in smooth delivery.

Things To Do In The Last Couple Of Months Before Pregnancy Due Date

1. Enroll for childbirth and breastfeeding classes. They train you on how to handle your delivery process. This gives you confidence and prepares you mentally for the big day. You interact with other moms-to-be and get those positive vibes that are vital to endure the pain that goes with giving birth.

2. Chart out a childbirth plan. It includes the choice of birth center, type of birth, pain relievers, and kind of treatment you want, choice of people whom you wish to be present during childbirth, pregnancy bag items, and others.

3. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy week by week!

Most of the deliveries take place either a week earlier or later to the pregnancy due date. Only a few women deliver exactly on the due date. Therefore, it futile to worry so much about due date. There are other important things that need your attention. A couple of them are your health and regular checkups. Also, do not forget to remain happy and positive. Your attitude plays an important role in relaxing your mind, which, in turn, affects your endurance to bear pain during labor.

So, let pregnancy due date take a backseat for now. Focus on the pregnancy instead. You will enjoy more!

Without knowing it, you may be consuming drugs found in drinking water, and not necessarily the kinds of drugs that can benefit you in any way. Public drinking water supplies around the globe have shown to have traces of a number of different prescription drugs found in drinking water, including birth control medications, sexual hormones, asthma drugs, anti seizure drugs, psychiatric drugs and anti depressants, pain killers and many others. These drugs in drinking water supplies all over the world could potentially be putting people in serious danger. Visit home water purification to discover how to select the very best water filtration system for your home or office.

Drugs in drinking water have also included a number of different over the counter forms of drugs and medications, as well as compounds that are regularly found in chemicals like deodorant products, soaps and detergents and shampoos as well. While the amount of prescription drugs found in drinking water is very small, these trace amounts of potentially contraindicated drugs and other chemical compounds can stack up in combination with one another, which really adds up when you consider long term exposure and how much water you put into your body every day.

Are drugs in drinking water dangerous?

While there is no real proof that drugs in drinking water in their current amounts are really harmful, deciding that they are inherently harmless could potentially be a giant mistake. According to the assistant administrator for water with the EPA or Environmental Projection Agency, it is recognized that this is a serious and growing concern, and steps are being taken to learn more. One of the largest facets of this growing concern relates to PCCPs which are used for pharmaceutical products and other personal care products, and that are being flushed from sewage treatment facilities into our rivers and streams, and that are leashing out of septic tanks and into our groundwater.

Positive Steps in the Right Direction

The level of drugs in drinking water has not necessarily reached dangerous proportions yet, but that does not mean we cannot all take steps to reduce the amount of drugs found in drinking water. There are a number of practical steps that can be taken to reduce drugs in drinking water.

1 – Dispose of antibiotics and drugs properly rather than simply flushing them down the toilet.

2 – Do not use personal health products, soaps or antiperspirants that have triclosan in them.

3 – Avoid using drugs that are unnecessary, and you will avoid impacting the level of drugs in drinking water.

4 – Cut down on exposure to insecticides by purchasing organic fruits, vegetables, flowers and other plants.

5 – Stay informed about drugs in drinking water and what drugs found in drinking water are doing to the environment and our health.

6 – Avoid drinking bottled water to avoid having chemicals leach into the water from the plastic bottle, only lending to the discovery of more chemicals and drugs in drinking water.

7 – Consider making use of high quality home water filtration systems so that you can bottle your own purified water, sans many of the drugs found in drinking water supplies.

Ive read a lot of books, but was unable to find any classes that had openings! I looked everywhere but they were booked like 6months in advance!
Ive been reading up on the Bradly method, breathing techs, practicing yoga, walking all the time, doing squats, anything I can do or read that I think may help…
But my husband is still kinda in denial about how close I am to delivering our baby, so I have no idea about how much help he will be when I go into the labor room…
Believe me I don’t think he is going to believe this is all real till he is holding our son. I don’t have any family or female friends in this state, and we cant afford to hire a doula or labor coach…
My doctor says to be ready because he expects the baby any day now… (for a lot of reasons I wont go into it here)
I am DETERMINED not to have drugs unless it becomes ABSOLUTELY medically necessary for the baby’s safety…
For those of you who have had an all natural birth, what did you do to get through it?
